Top Four Criteria For Picking a Double Baby Jogging Stroller

In my last article I disused some things to consider when selecting the right double baby jogging stroller.

In this article I am going to expand upon the top four criteria I used to help me select my stroller.

Maneuverability (easy to steer)

The running routes that I frequent are not straight line paths or walkways. They snake throughout and around my development. My first double baby jogging stroller had a fixed front wheel with large tires. It was easy to push, put horrible to steer. Every turn required me to shift my weight on the steering bar to move the stroller from one side to the other. In most cases I would have to lean the stroller back on the rear wheels and rotate the stroller in the direction I wanted to go. This can really break up your run andbecome a hassle after a while. My girls liked it at first, but if we went on a good run that put them to sleep, "the turning" jolt "as I started to refer to it, quickly became not so fun!

I ultimately settled on a double baby jogging stroller with swivel wheel. It made for a much smoother steering process and reduced the strain on my upper body from trying to push around the one with a fixed front wheel. I'm not saying that to swivel wheel is a must have for everyone. As previously mentioned, it is going to depend on where you run and your own personal likes and dislikes. If you need to have both, there are plenty of models that have a swivel front wheel that you can lock in place.

Weight (easy to push)

The weight of the stroller you purchase combined withmaneuverability (easy to steer) where the top two criteria for me. When I had my first daughter and my husband and I went shopping for strollers, he used to make me pick up the stroller and see if I could hold it over my head. If I couldn't do that, how was I going to get it into the back of our car? The same thought process went into the criteria for picking a double baby jogging stroller.

I obviously wanted something that was sturdy enough for my two girls but light enough for me to push around the neighborhood with ease and put in and out of the car if we were going some place else for a run.

I also took into consideration how much the stroller weighed and the weight capacity of the stroller. If I was going to spend good money on a double baby jogging stroller I wanted tomake sure it was going to last as they continued to grow!

Shade (I live in sunny Florida)

This was another very important consideration since I live in Florida. I can take the humidity, but anyone who has ever been to Florida in the summer will tell you that being in the direct sunlight for any period of time can be unbearable. As long as my girls had a good amount of shade and something to drink they would be okay.

Equally important for me was there protecting delicate skin from the damaging rays of the sun. You should consider running early in the morning or late afternoon if possible to help minimize the risk of your children getting a sunburn.

Separation (how difficult was it for my girls to get at each other!)

Finally, one of my top ten criteriaincluded an analysis of how separate where my girls really going to be from each other. There is nothing more frustrating than constantly pulling apart your kids while you are trying to get your workout completed. The better double jogging baby strollers have a sturdy separation not only to support your children but in my opinion, to keep them separated from one another! They should also provide a pocket or pockets for a snack, toy, or water/juice bottle.

Hope this helps with your selection process! More to come in my next article.
